PLANTATION ACRES, Fla. -- Residents of a Plantation neighborhood plan to ask for money to help catch some wild hogs seen roaming around their streets.
Trappers working over the weekend canceled their search for the hogs because they ran out of funding.
It costs about $200 to catch a wild adult hog and about $50 per piglet.
Trappers said there may be as many as three dozen of the hogs in the back woods of western Broward County.
The pigs have been seen in the neighborhood late at night and have made a mess of several front lawns.
During a meeting scheduled for Wednesday night, the city commission is expected to discuss how it can raise funds to trap more of the pigs.
