Operation Crimebusters Sweeps Little Havana
Officers Help Catch Escaped Prisoner

LITTLE HAVANA, Fla. -- A busy street corner in Miami's Little Havana became a makeshift police station Friday afternoon, as dozens of police officers checked in for "Operation Crimebusters."
"The operation’s mission is to focus on robberies, burglaries, thefts, graffiti and other crime issues," police spokesman Jeff Giordano told Local 10's Glenna Milberg.
The 2-day mission for participating officers is to sweep the neighborhood of crime and improve the quality of life there.
The operation, so far, has netted more than 30 arrests for crimes, including drug offenses.
Officers on also caught a prisoner
Fprisoner who had escaped from the prisoner drop-off area at Miami-Dade County Pre-Trail Detention Center Friday morning.
