A Miami man has been arrested, accused of operating a body piercing salon without a license.

Quincy Williams, 37, has been charged with owning and operating a body piercing salon without first obtaining a license from the Florida Department of Health.

Miami-Dade police said the allegations came to light after a 17-year-old girl went to Williams' salon for a tongue piercing late last year, and the piercing became infected. The girl ended up having to go to the hospital for treatment of the infection.

Police said they want the public to beware of unlicensed tattoo and body piercing salons, which they said operate with lower standards than those of licensed salons.
