MIAMI -- A man trying to sell a car was robbed, beaten and shot in Miami last week, and only one of the suspects has been arrested.
Miami police said a man and a woman called a man who was selling a car last Friday, pretending to be interested. They looked at the vehicle, and the seller agreed to drop them off at Northwest Fifth Avenue and 53rd Street.
When they got there, police said, the woman got out of the front passenger seat and the man, who was in the back seat, pulled a gun on the victim and told him not to move. A second man approached the car, put a bag over the victim's head and forced him into the back seat, police said.
The men drove the victim to another location and beat him and demanded his money for about an hour, police said. They searched the man's pockets, shot him and left him in the 1100 block of Northwest 72nd Street, according to investigators.
The victim was taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital for treatment.
Lebron Warren, 20, was arrested in connection with the crime. Police said they also found the cell phone used to call the victim to inquire about the car.
Police continue to search for the others involved. Anyone with information is asked to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS (8477).
