POSTED: 1:58 PM EDT August 25, 2003
Detectives have released surveillance photos of a man they say used a paper drink cup to hold up a store.

Broward Sheriff's Office robbery detectives said that just after 4 a.m., Monday, the man went into the 7- Eleven convenience store at 205 E. Dania Beach Blvd. With his right hand concealed inside a paper soft drink cup, so that he would appear armed, the man demanded that the clerk, Joseph Gonzalez, 38, give him money from the register.
The robber told Gonzalez "not to be a hero." Gonzalez gave the man cash, and then the robber demanded that Gonzalez give him his car keys. He grabbed the keys, and on his way out the door, told Gonzalez that his name is "Chris."
The suspect took off in Gonzalez's 1993 burgundy Nissan Sentra with the Florida tag number CB27D.
Police described the robber as 28 to 30 years old, about 5 feet 10 inches tall, weighing about 240 pounds.
A reward of up to $1,000 may be available for information leading to an arrest in this case. Anyone with information on this crime or the suspect is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (954) 493-TIPS.
