Becca's Closet Lives On As Legacy To Teen

Prom Dresses Needed To Keep Program Going

A grieving father is helping the legacy of his daughter live on after her death.

Rebecca Kirtman, 16, was killed Aug. 21 when she lost control of her car on Interstate 595 and slid underneath a tractor-trailer.

Rebecca was well known for starting a program that collected gowns for students who wanted to go to prom but couldn't afford a dress.

In her memory, her dad, Jay Kirtman, is keeping the program going, and has named it Becca's Closet.

"It's helping my wound close a little bit, knowing that people know about how good Rebecca was and to carry her name on," Kirtman said.
