80-Year-Old Survives Being Hit

HOLLYWOOD, Fla. -- An elderly man is in a hospital after being struck by lightning Tuesday afternoon.

Hollywood Fire Rescue workers said that they were called to a home on Johnson Street near 76 Terrace and found an 80-year-old man with injuries caused by a lightning strike.

The man reportedly has burns on his chest and hands.

Paramedics transported the man to Memorial Regional Hospital.

There was no word on his condition late Tuesday afternoon.
