MIAMI -- The search for the man accused of gunning down Jose Calvo in his Coconut Grove driveway is continuing, and now the murder suspect's mother has made a plea for him to get in touch with her.

Verneka Lee (pictured, left) made a public plea to her son, Anthony Lee, to call her and to turn himself in to police.
Anthony Lee is accused of shooting Calvo in the head in front of his wife and 2-year-old son Sept. 18.
Wednesday, Verneka Lee said she has hired a lawyer for her family.
"My lawyer can be with him when he turns himself in," Lee said. "We don't need him to say anything, make any statements, sign any papers, no confessions, because I am afraid if they catch him if we're not there, he could be hurt, beat up on, harmed, just to get what they want out of him."
Published reports have linked the victim's wife, Denice Calvo, to Verneka Lee. Phone records reportedly show calls between Denice Calvo and the Lee house prior to the murder. One report also indicated that Denice Calvo bought crack cocaine from Verneka Lee.
Verneka Lee will not comment on the shooting but said she thinks there is more to the story.
"Everybody wants to know what happened -- we want to hear his (Anthony Lee's) side of the story."
