Bahamian Police Interrogating Several People
Police said five Bahamian boys have mysteriously disappeared in the Freeport, Grand Bahama area since May.Bahamian police have been investigating the possibility that the children may have been brought to South Florida. Many fear that the boys are no longer alive.There are also rumors running wild in Grand Bahama that the boys may have been abducted in a bizarre human organ theft ring. The Bahamian prime minister's chief spokesman said that is just a rumor. He said the FBI and Scotland Yard in England have joined Bahamian and Floridian law enforcement in the investigation.Missing BoysDesmond Rolle, 14, disappeared on Sept. 28 Junior Reme, 11, disappeared on July 29 DeAngelo MacKenzie, 13, disappeared on May 30 Mackinson Colas, 12, disappeared on May 16 Jake Grant, 12, disappeared on May 9Police and residents have become increasing concerned with each report of another missing boy, especially since none of the boys reportedly had any history of running away.Desmond Rolle, 14, of William's Town, disappeared Sunday Oct. 26th after working at his part time job at the Winn Dixie Supermarket in downtown Freeport.Junior Reme, 11, the youngest boy to disappear, vanished from his Freeport home on July 29.Eighth-grader DeAngelo McKenzie, 13, disappeared on May 27 after getting out of school in Freeport.Mackinson Colas, 12, a sixth-grader, was last seen the morning of May 16 when he left his Freeport home to run an errand for his mother.Seventh-grader Jake Grant, 12, was last seen around 11 a.m. May 9, when he left his Freeport home.Jake, Mackinson, Junior and Rolle all worked as packing boys at a grocery store. Police said Thursday questioned seven people who work at the Freeport Winn-Dixie store in connection to the disappearances, and at the end of the day, three of those people were still in custody.Police have not yet announced the names of those being questioned or indicated if there are any arrests, nor have they confirmed the South Florida connection to the case.
