David Cassidy Pleads Case To Commission

Singer Wants One-Way Traffic Diverter In His Neighborhood

POSTED: Wednesday, November 19,

A former member of the "Partridge Family" is joining with his neighbors to try to get a street changed.

David Cassidy and some of his neighbors asked the Fort Lauderdale City Commission Wednesday to approve installation of a one-way traffic diverter on South Ocean Drive.

Cassidy is a member of the Harbor Beach Civic Association, the group petitioning for the diverter. He has a home in the effected neighborhood.

Those in favor of the diverter say there is too much heavy traffic in the residential neighborhood.

People against the diverter say if the road is blocked it would send traffic onto the very busy 17th Street Causeway and create more traffic headaches.
