COCONUT GROVE, Fla. -- A group of students who were scammed out of a field trip were treated to a fun-filled holiday show Monday. But some people are questioning the entertainment.

The students attended the city of Miami's annual holiday party for underprivileged kids in Coconut Grove. City of Miami Mayor Manny Diaz wanted to make up for a holiday event that never happened when a promoter took off with the kids' cash.
Many thought it was inappropriate that rapper Trick Daddy was there. He's waiting to go on trial for drug possession, assault and weapons charges. Both Mayor Diaz and Trick Daddy had explanations.
"Well, we, I suppose, we have a lot of people in this community who in the past have gotten in trouble with the law and now they want to give something back," Diaz said.
"It's for the underprivileged kids you know, and I was once an underprivileged child, you know ... So, Trick love the kids," Trick Daddy said.
Meanwhile, Miami police are still trying to track down David Ellisor, the man who they say scammed the kids out of their original holiday party.
