Tooter Sounds Off On Campbell Arrest

POSTED: Thursday, January 8,
UPDATED: 9:36 am EST January 8, 2004

We are hearing from Tillie Tooter about the latest arrest of the man who nearly killed her in 2000.

Scott Campbell Scott Campbell (pictured) admits his car slammed into Tooter's sending it over guardrail along Interstate 595 and into the mangroves 40 feet below. She managed to survive three days trapped in that car. Campbell was arrested Tuesday for violating his parole in the Tooter case because he was charged Dec. 28 with DUI and released. He is now in jail on DUI charges and being held without bond.

Tooter thinks Campbell is hurting himself and his family.

"I gave him a chance. Whatever happens now, he did it to himself. He should've learned. He should've learned his lesson," Tooter said.

When Campbell was stopped by Hollywood police on Dec. 28, he was charged with DUI and released. This Tuesday he was re-arrested for violating the probation he received as part of his sentence in the Tooter case. On Wednesday, a judge ruled that Campbell should be held without bond.
