PALM BEACH COUNTY, Fla. -- This morning a teacher accused of having sex with her now 13-year-old student has posted $30,000 bond.

Flannigan is under house arrest, staying at her mother's Delray Beach home. She is wearing an ankle monitor. Flannigan's mother is adamant that Carol is innocent.

As part of the terms of her house arrest, Carol Flannigan is not allowed to have access to a computer. She also will not be permitted to contact her alleged victim or his family. She will be allowed supervised visits with her 16-year-old son.

Thursday, Carol Flannigan (pictured) made her first appearance in a West Palm Beach County courtroom. The 49-year-old music teacher is facing six felony counts after a student said they'd been having sex for a year and a half. It allegedly started when he was just 11 years old.

Flannigan's friend, Marie Concetta, is coming to her defense.

"I'm finding it really hard to believe," Concetta said. "She was just very supportive of someone who didn't have much, I guess."

A year ago, Flannigan's husband reportedly told a marriage counselor that he was jealous of his wife's relationship with the student and that the two had romantically kissed. However, police investigated and no charges were filed.
