A family living in South Florida for 10 years is fighting deportation back to Peru.

Lourdes Sandivar (pictured) and her husband Jose came from Peru in 1993 to escape an unstable life in their country. They were allowed to stay in the U.S., but Peru is now considered safe so the Sandivar's asylum application has been denied.

The family has been ordered back to Peru by Feb. 5.

"I tried with my kids. I tried to stay here. I have only one month for decide to sell my house, my cars, everything," said Lourdes Sandivar.

Sandivar is now being held at the Krome Detention Center. His wife Lourdes has been allowed to stay home with her two American born children, but she's being monitored. She has to wear an ankle bracelet and there's a black box hooked up to her telephone.
