Police Believe S.C. Teen Killed Chat Room Acquaintance
Investigators Say Teen Invited Man To Home, Shot Him
Deputies told Greenville, S.C., television station WYFF that they responded to a call just after 9 a.m. EST and found 48-year-old Harold Dewaine Bridges, of Iva, S.C., dead from a gunshot wound on the porch of the home.
Deputies said Bridges and the teen had been communicating in an Internet chat room aimed at homosexuals. They said the teenager apparently invited Bridges to his home Tuesday morning, and when Bridges arrived on the front porch, the teen left the home through a back door and shot Bridges.
"When the victim arrived, the 15-year-old exited the rear with a rifle (and) shot the victim near the front porch," said Capt. Dale McCard of the Anderson County Sheriff's Office.
Investigators confiscated a computer from the teen's home, as well as a second computer from Bridges' home, and said the teen will be charged with murder.Distributed by Internet Broadcasting Systems, Inc. This material may not be published, broadcast, rewritten or redistributed.
