Man On Tape Identified In Nanny Murder Case

Tip Follows 'America's Most Wanted' Story

Investigators have identified a man caught on tape leaving a grocery store at the same time as a nanny who ended up murdered.

Palm Beach County sheriff's detectives said Wednesday that a tip from a person who watched an "America's Most Wanted" story on Monica Veldezin's murder led them to 40-year-old Robert Saylor. Deputies said Saylor was wanted for a probation violation related to a domestic battery incident in 2002.

Saylor was arrested March 12, and detained in the Palm Beach County jail until March 16.

Homicide detectives said that during an interview, Saylor said he was the individual in the video and was aware of flyers and TV coverage looking for Valdizan's killer. But he said was afraid to come forward because of the outstanding warrant for his arrest.

Saylor denies any involvement in Valdizan's murder and deputies said he has been cooperative.

Anyone with information regarding this case is asked to call Palm Beach Beach County Crime Stoppers at 1 (800) 458-TIPS.
