Rilya Wilson's Social Worker Must Pay Back State

Missing Child's Social Worker Filed False Timesheets

POSTED: Thursday, April 29,

The social worker who was once responsible for supervising the care of a child who disappeared will have to reimburse the state for hours she didn't work.

DeBorah Muskelly (pictured left, file photo), who was assigned to monitor Rilya Wilson's foster care, filed timesheets for hours she was actually working at another job, according to her employer, the Department of Children and Families.

Muskelly logged the false timesheets during the time she was supposed to be checking on 5-year-old Rilya. The child has been missing since January 2001, but DCF wasn't aware of her disappearance for more than a year.

Muskelly must reimburse the state $2,700 for the time she did not work. Earlier this month, she pleaded guilty to official misconduct and was sentenced to five years probation.

Rilya is still missing.
