An argument between two men at a Hialeah government housing project ended in deadly gunfire Thursday, police say.

It's not clear what the two men were arguing about, but the men did have an ongoing feud, according to police.

Police said that 84-year-old Carlos Leiva gunned down 65-year-old Bruno Linares.

"It's been an ongoing dispute between them and today (Leiva) decided to end it all, and went upstairs and shot (Linares)," said Frank Gonzalez of the Hialeah Police Department.

The men lived at Ashley Plaza (pictured, right), a low-income housing project that caters to the elderly. Residents say the suspect is mentally unstable.

Leiva was taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital. He has not yet been charged.
