Local Lawmakers Allege Tie Between Heinz-Kerry, Cuba

MIAMI -- Three local Cuban-American lawmakers are trying to tie John Kerry's wife, Teresa Heinz-Kerry to Fidel Castro.At a Tuesday press conference, Rep. Lincoln Diaz-Balart, his brother Mario Diaz-Balart and Rep. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen claimed Heinz-Kerry's foundation, Heinz Endorsements, gave millions of dollars to a foundation called Tides, which in turn gave money to another foundation that provides Internet access to the Cuban government.The lawmakers want Heinz-Kerry to publicly say that she is not in favor of those organizations and sever the financial ties.Representatives for Heinz Endorsements and Tides deny the connection.
