Police arrest the nanny.
"It's possible the baby could have been alone for up to 2, to 2 and a half hours," said one officer.

Investigators said the baby's mother stopped by to drop something off at her Eastchester, N.Y., house and saw the 27-year-old nanny was nowhere to be found. The nanny had reportedly left her own car in the driveway, but taken the family's Mercedes to go shopping.

"She heard the baby's voice from upstairs, went upstairs to check and found out the infant was alone in her crib," the officer said.

The mother called police immediately. Officers arrested the Hungarian nanny when she returned home.

The baby was not harmed.
