Police: Nanny Leaves Baby To Go Christmas Shopping

EASTCHESTER, N.Y. -- A nanny is facing child endangerment charges after police said she left a 16-month-old baby home alone so she could go Christmas shopping.

"It's possible the baby could have been alone for up to 2, to 2 and a half hours," said one officer.Investigators said the baby's mother stopped by to drop something off at her Eastchester, N.Y., house and saw the 27-year-old nanny was nowhere to be found. The nanny had reportedly left her own car in the driveway, but taken the family's Mercedes to go shopping.
