Postal Worker In Mail Truck Leads Police On Chase

POSTED: Tuesday, December 28, 2004

A postal worker is behind bars after police said he led them on a chase -- in his mail truck.

The low speed chase began in Cooper City but came to an end at the Pembroke Pines Post Office on Flamingo Road. According to a post office spokesman, the letter carrier worked out of the Pembroke Pines Post Office. He said the man took off when officers tried to arrest him, leading them on the chase to the Flamingo office.

There is no word on what charges the man was facing, but Local 10 did learn that his arrest followed an internal investigation.

The man will now face additional charges for trying to evade police.
