BROWARD COUNTY, Fla. -- ChildNet, the agency supervising the care of the newborn in the so-called "tossed-baby" case, says it's going to take DNA to sort out who's the father of Baby Johny.
Slideshow: Newborn Thrown From Car Story A HoaxChildNet officials said Wednesday that "a few men" have come forward claiming to be the baby's father -- and three men have been identified as possible fathers.
The newborn gained national notoriety when his mother, Patricia Pokriots, claimed that she rescued the baby after seeing him tossed out of a moving car last Thursday.
(Full Story)There was no word if Pokriots, the infant's mother, was still in the hospital.
Pokriots, 38, was admitted under Florida's Baker Act. The act allows people in crisis to be involuntarily admitted for evaluation and emergency mental health care.
Detectives said Pokriots claimed that she didn't know until the last couple months that she was pregnant and she said she just couldn't have a baby.
She has not yet signed away her parental rights, but she has said she does not want to raise the child, according to ChildNet.
