A former Miami commissioner was found not guilty Wednesday of assault on an undercover police officer - - but guilty of a second charge of threatening a public official.

Former Commissioner Arthur Teele testified in his own defense
Former Commissioner Arthur Teele defended himself by saying he didn't know the men following his wife were police. He said he cut off the unmarked police car, but never did anything to intentionally violate the law. He said he was conducting a "lawful citizen arrest."

Teele was heard on tape appearing to threaten the officers. The jury deliberated just four hours before coming to the verdict.

The undercover officers were following Teele and his wife before the incident as part of a fraud investigation. Teele is also charged with taking $135,000 in cash kickbacks from two construction companies from May 1999 to October 2003, which was during his tenure as the head of the city's community redevelopment agency

Teele was removed from office in September.

Teele's sentencing date has not yet been announced.
