Police Wonder Whether Call Was Considered Prank At First
The caller, David Steeves, 19, was found shot to death in the trunk of his mother's car a few days later.Before he died, Steeves made frantic cell phone calls to 911 from the trunk of the car. Police were dispatched to the scene, but officers were told the call may have been a prank, Chicago television station WMAQ reported.Officials said Steeves' calls were cut off, but dispatchers tried to call him back repeatedly.
- Steeves: We're going fast. I'm in a trunk right now. I don't know where I'm at.
911 Dispatcher: Alright, stay on the phone then.
Steeves: Oh my God, you guys, please help me.
