Murdered Mogul Gus Boulis Buried In Greece

Hundreds Attend Monday's Funeral In Boulis' Hometown

KAVALA, Greece , 3:08 p.m. EST February 13, 2001 -- Hundreds of Kavala residents accompanied the funeral procession of Konstantinos "Gus" Boulis from a church near his boyhood home to a cemetery close to the north Aegean Sea Monday.

Friends, relatives and business associates traveled from Florida to attend the funeral in Kavala, about 80 miles northeast of Thessaloniki.

The Florida businessman was shot dead while he was driving his BMW away from a business meeting in Fort Lauderdale on Feb. 6.

Florida authorities are digging into Boulis' affairs for any clues to the slaying. The 51-year-old entrepreneur made a fortune with the Miami Subs chain and Sun Cruz floating casinos.

Police are investigating Washington lawyer Adam Kidan and his tumultuous business relationship with Boulis in recent months. Boulis recently filed a lawsuit against Kidan and his partners for allegedly mishandling several business deals.

Ft. Lauderdale detectives say they have received hundreds of leads. The Crimestoppers reward for Boulis' killers has ballooned to $101,000, the largest reward in Ft. Lauderdale's Crimestoppers history.
