MIAMI -- Police arrested a Miami Dolphins football player late Wednesday night.
A Florida Highway Patrol official said troopers stopped Dolphin reservist Quintin Williams and Brandy Lynn Richards, who falsely claimed to be a Miami Dolphin cheerleader, for racing on I-595. Troopers clocked them at speeds of 111 mph and 109 mph, according to FHP.
Williams was driving a 2006 Mercedes that belonged to Dolphin Tavares Tillman, who was also in the car. FHP troopers said that Tillman was drunk.
Williams is charged with drag racing and driving under the influence.
In a statement, Dolphins Head Coach Nick Saban said, "This is not the kind of behavior we expect from our players relative to the choices and decisions they make. They not only need to respect the law, but also to respect others in terms of their safety and how it reflects on members of this team, this organization and the fans."
