Tenants Kicked Out Of Miami Beach Condo

POSTED: Monday, June 27, 2005
UPDATED: 9:37 am EDT June 27, 2005

Versaille residents load up for a forced move.
Tenants scrambled to get out of a Miami Bach condo earlier this morning after safety inspectors cited numerous safety code violations.

Renters and owners at Versailles on 34th Street and Collins Avenue had until 7 a.m. this morning to pack up and leave. There are 277 units at the condominium.

The Versailles condo board said they could not make code repairs because tenants constantly refused to pay higher association fees.

Board members said that every time they met to raise the fees, condo residents voted them down. They said fees are $300, which includes water, electricity, phone and 24-hour security.
