Man Found By Couple Returning From Vacation

Police are investigating a bizarre death in Boca Raton.

A couple, who lives in the upscale New Floresta neighborhood, returned home from a vacation and found a man dead on his hands and knees with his head stuck in their barbeque grill.

Police are saying little about the discovery, and it has not been determined if the death was a suicide or an accident.

The homeowner, John Fessel, said he does not know the man, who appeared to be in his 20s.

Fessel said he looked out the window and saw the dead man inside their screened-in patio.

"A guy on all fours, wedged in under the gas grill in the built-in kitchen out there -- underneath the grill as if he is turning it on or doing something," Fessell said.

Police said it appeared that the man had been dead for a few days.

Neighbors told Local 10 that they had noticed a man who lives in the neighborhood wandering around acting strangely over the weekend. Police said they don't know yet if the man who was found dead was that person.

Investigators are still trying to determine the man's cause of death.

Fessel said he had heard that some people sniff propane to get a rush. Police did not confirm that theory.
