Don Noe said that the depression is poorly organized, but it is likely to pull itself together and gain strength as it heads west.

The depression has maximum sustained winds of about 35 mph with gusts to 45 mph. Tropical storms sustain winds of at least 39 mph.
If the depression reaches storm status, it will be named Emily.
