LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. -- A well-known South Florida sports agent is being called a hero for saving the life of a 4-year-old boy at a Disney resort Tuesday.
"I heard screams at the pool," said sports agent Drew Rosenhaus. "I saw this little boy on the ground. He wasn't breathing and really no one was doing anything. So instincts just kicked in. I didn't even think, I reacted and just started performing CPR for about two minutes and he came to. Thank God he came to."
Rosenhaus was at the Grand Floridian Hotel in Orlando Tuesday when the boy was pulled, unconscious, from the pool. Rosenhaus said he heard screams and ran to help.
"I was scared and I said 'Hey, there's no way I'm going to let this little kid die,'" Rosenhaus said.
The boy is hospitalized in stable condition and is doing just fine.
There were no lifeguards on duty at the time. But, it turns out, Rosenhaus was a lifeguard for one summer in college. He said saving the boy made the best day of his life.
Rosenhaus' hardball negotiating tactics have made him perhaps the league's most notorious agent. He said he was at the Grand Floridian to visit clients.
The Orange County Sheriff's Office said the boy is from Chicago and was on a trip with his family.
