POSTED: Friday, September 30, 2005
BROWARD COUNTY, Fla. -- If you have been waiting for slot machines in Broward County, you may soon be able to find a "one-armed bandit" in a pari-mutuel near you.

A state appeals court has given the go-ahead to four Broward County pari-mutuels to begin installing slot machines.
The court ruled that the pari-mutuels don't have to wait for the state and county guidelines regulating the machines usage.
Once the slot machines are installed, apart from Indian reservations, Broward county will be the only county in the state to have legalized slot machines.
