MIAMI -- A couple is charged with starving their baby to death, and now a judge is deciding if their other children will testify in their trial.
Joseph and Lamoy Andressohn are awaiting trial in the death of their 5-month-old daughter Woyah in May 2003. They are accused of manslaughter.
A judge is deciding if prosecutors can use a videotaped recording of the Andressohn's other children discussing Woyah's death, or if those children will testify via closed circuit television of in open court. The judge's is ruling is expected later today.
Prosecutors say the Andressohns neglected the baby and did not feed an adequate diet to their children. Investigators have said that at the time of Woyah's death, she weighed just 7 pounds, which was less than her birth weight.
Investigators said that the Andressohns and their children, including Woyah, lived on a diet of "raw foods" uncooked organic fruits, vegetables and nuts
Ellis Rubin, the Andressohns' defense attorney, has said that he will prove it was genetic defect, not lack of proper food that killed the baby.
