Manager Mishap Led To Super Cheap Gasoline

POSTED: Wednesday, October 5, 2005
UPDATED: 6:52 pm EDT October 5, 2005

Drivers filling up at a Hallandale Beach gas station were in for quite a surprise Wednesday morning.

They got premium grade gas for 33 cents a gallon!

For several hours, the Race Trac gas station on Hallandale Beach Boulevard was giving out premium grade gas for 33 cents a gallon after a manager accidentally inputted .329 into the system, instead of 3.29.

Customers took full advantage of the mistake and not one person said a word to workers. It wasn't until Local 10 showed up, after receiving a tip, that the gas station's managers found out what happened and quickly changed the price back to $3.29.
