Teacher Accused Of Kidnapping Student Faces New Sex Charges
Second Boy Says Teacher Molested Him
POSTED: Friday, October 21, 2005
BROWARD COUNTY, Fla. -- Investigators say a second child has come forward saying a middle school teacher who is facing sex charges sexually assaulted him.
Teacher Adrian Valdez, 29, was charged Tuesday with kidnapping, sexual battery, and lewd and lascivious molestation.
Investigators said Valdez gave detention to a 12-year-old boy in his class at Crystal Lake Middle School in Pompano Beach then later offered the boy a ride home. He instead took the child to his Deerfield Beach home and performed a sex act, according to detectives.
As a result of reports on the arrest, a 14-year-old boy contacted Broward Sheriff’s Office investigators and said he too had been victimized by Valdez. The boy said the assault occurred on the last day of school, June 2, 2005, when he was a student at Crystal Lake Middle. The boy said Valdez first exposed himself inside a portable classroom and then arranged to meet him in a bank parking lot near the school after class. Investigators said Valdez then took the boy home with him and performed other sexual acts in his bedroom.
Valdez, who is being held without bond, now faces five additional charges. He is charged with exposure of sexual organs and two counts each of lewd or lascivious molestation and sexual battery.
Investigators are asking for anyone with information about this case to call detectives at (954) 321-4240.
