Police say a west Miami-Dade County man was running an unlicensed diet clinic.

Armando Valdes was arrested Wednesday night following a joint investigation by Miami-Dade police, the Florida Department of Law Enforcement and the Department of Health.

Investigators say Valdes operated an illegal diet clinic out of a Doral warehouse.

They said that Valdes administered a "diet" solution intravenously.

IV paraphernalia and other medical equipment including echocardiogram machines were confiscated from the warehouse during the search.

Valdes is charged with the unlicensed practice of medicine.
