Former Dolphin Player Found Guilty
Cecil Collins Convicted In Burglary
A Fort Lauderdale jury found former Miami Dolphins running back Cecil Collins guilty of burglary Tuesday.
Collins was sentenced shortly after the verdict was returned. He received the maximum sentence of 15 years in jail.
The prosecution said that Collins (pictured, right) broke into Tina Nolte's Davie, Fla., apartment. They also said that Collins repeatedly pursued Nolte despite the fact that she told the former running back that she was married and not interested. The Dolphins released him two months after the arrest.
Collins' defense attorney said that his client was involved in a relationship with Nolte and that she had invited him in.
In the end, the jury returned its decision after just over an hour of deliberation, finding Collins guilty of burglary.
