Man Stuffs Puggle In Pants, Walks Out Of Pet Store

POSTED: Thursday, March 16, 2006

The owner of 441 Puppies is hoping surveillance video that shows two people walk off with a high-priced pup will help get it back.

Surveillance video taken Saturday shows a man walk into the store, grab an 8-month-old puggle, stuff it in his pants and walk out with a young woman.

"They knew what they were going for," said owner Tammy Worth. "They had their eye on that one."

The cost of the pug-beagle mix? $1,300. Worth is offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to its recovery.

Hollywood police are investigating.

"Hopefully if any good Samaritan finds the puppy, they can take it to any local veterinarian or bring it to the store with no questions asked," employee Janice McCarty said. "We just want the puppy back."

Anyone with information about the theft is asked to call Broward Crime Stoppers at (954) 493-TIPS.
