Cologne Crooks Caught On Camera
$20,000 In Fragrances Stolen From Beauty Supply Store
POSTED: Tuesday, April 4, 2006
BROWARD COUNTY, Fla. -- Broward Sheriff’s Office detectives are hoping someone will recognize three men caught on camera stealing thousands of dollars worth of cologne last month.
Surveillance cameras were rolling when the cologne crooks broke into Elegant Beauty Supply, 2239 SW 2nd St., at about 7 a.m. on March 19. The thieves can be seen breaking a lock on the shop’s front door and then using plastic garbage cans to clear out shelf after shelf of perfumes and colognes.
A witness told investigators that she had seen two white cargo vans backed up to the front of the store on the morning of the burglary, but she thought the men were employees of the beauty supply store.
Elegant Beauty Supply store manager, Fadi Malouf, estimated the loss at approximately $20,000.
Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call Broward Crime Stoppers at (954) 493-TIPS. A cash reward of up to $1,000 may be available for anonymous information about the crooks or the crime.
