MIAMI -- Customs officials questioned a Nigerian man at Miami International Airport on Wednesday after they said they found "a concoction" with bird remains.
The man arrived on an Alitalia from Milan, Italy, according to customs officials. A U.S. Customs and Border Protection K-9 discovered the remains.
Officials did not specify if the man had only one bird or more than one. The man was questioned and released, but he was not charged.
Officials said they did not believe that the dead bird or birds had anything to do with avian flu.
The bird or birds were in a quarantined area. Customs officials said the remains would be incinerated.
No other passengers were affected by the incident, and the plane later departed as scheduled.
