Someone called the Coast Guard to say that a plane had gone down in Biscayne Bay -- but officials said they found no validiity to the report.

The person called the Coast Guard from the Mount Sinai Hospital saying that they had seen the plane go into the water at about noon.

Reports of the small plane going down came in simultaneously to a report of an Airbus coming into Miami International Airport with severe hydraulic failure. That plane landed safely just after noon.

The person who called the Coast Guard said that they spotted a person -- who was apparently in the small plane that went down in the bay -- standing on the wing of the plane waving.

Emergency crews immediately searched the area near the hospital and the Julia Tuttle Causeway, but said there was no indication that a plane had gone down.
