Cop, Woman Found Dead Of Apparent Murder-Suicide

HIALEAH GARDENS, Fla. -- The bodies of a police officer and another woman were discovered in a home in Hialeah Gardens on Tuesday.Police said officers were called to the house at 10088 N.W. 126th Terrace, where they discovered the bodies of Robert Gomez and Martha Bernet inside at about 6 a.m.A man in his 20s let officers inside and they found the bodies in one of the rooms, Miami-Dade police spokesman Bobby Williams said.Gomez, 41, and Bernet, 33, died from an apparent gunshot wound. Police said both appeared to be victims of a murder-suicide.Miami-Dade police confirmed that Gomez was an officer with the Hialeah Gardens Police Department.
