Police: Man Beats Girlfriend, Then Drives Her To Hospital

HIALEAH, Fla. -- A 19-year-old woman who was severely beaten and then driven to the hospital was in critical condition Monday.

According to Hialeah police, Kristine Miranda was dropped off at Palmetto General Hospital late Thursday night, unconscious and suffering from severe head trauma.

Police believe Miranda's boyfriend, Edwin Antonio Vega, whose street name is "Tech-9," beat her and then drove her to the hospital.

Vega, 22, is wanted as a suspect in connection with his girlfriend's injuries. He is believed to be driving Miranda's white, four-door 1999 Honda Accord, with license plate number S58-7GM.

Anyone with information about Vega's whereabouts is asked to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS.
