Woman Accused Of Injecting Botox Without License

POSTED: Friday, August 25, 2006

Miami-Dade police arrested a woman Thursday they said was practicing medicine out of her home without a license.

Teresa Amieva is accused of administering Botox out of her home at 19441 W. Lakes Dr.

One of her alleged victims, Elizabeth Garcia, notified police after she said injections Amieva gave her caused her face to swell up.

A neighbor told Local 10's Anjanette Flowers that he noticed lots of cars around Amieva's house and saw people go in and out late at night.

Amieva is charged with one count of unlicensed practice of health care and one count of possession of a new drug with the intent to dispense.
