NORTH MIAMI, Fla. -- Police said they have apprehended the last of the teenagers suspected in the death of a beauty store owner who was shot execution-style in the head.
Lazaro Esteban Cortes Jr. was arrested last week, police said. He is charged with the first-degree murder of Mohammed Ayoub.
In July, police charged Emmanuel Jean with first-degree murder. He is believed to be the shooter.
Another teen was also arrested, but his name is being withheld because he is 15 years old.
Ayoub was killed execution-style May 30 outside the door of the $ & Beauty shop he had owned for about five years after he tried to protect his business from being robbed, police said. Ayoub, 60, was airlifted to Jackson Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Police said Jean, 19, was linked to Ayoub's death through forensic evidence and eyewitnesses.
Ayoub's shop did not have surveillance cameras, but a nearby Discount Auto Parts did. It was that video that helped police put together a composite sketch of the shooter.
Cortes, 19, and Jean are also charged with armed robbery. In addition, Jean is charged with possession of a firearm by a delinquent.
