Falcons WR Finneran Suffers Knee Injury

POSTED: Monday, July 31, 2006

(Sports Network) - Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Brian Finneran suffered a potentially serious right knee injury during a training camp workout Sunday night.

Finneran fell to the ground in pain while planting his foot during a pass route.

The Falcons said Finneran will undergo an MRI within the next day.

"Once we look at the film we'll probably see it was more of a non-contact injury than anything," Falcons head coach Jim Mora said. "Sometimes you plant and your knee gives. It looks like it's serious, but we're going to wait until we get the MRI done to just confirm it."

Finneran caught 50 passes for 611 yards and two touchdowns in 16 games, including seven starts, for the Falcons last season.
