After being acquired by the Washington Redskins with the fifth pick in the 2004 NFL draft, Sean Taylor -- who died Tuesday after being shot in his home by an intruder Monday morning -- emerged as one of the team's defensive stars.
2006 Taylor is named to his first Pro Bowl team after leading the Redskins in tackles (129). He started 16 games for the Redskins, recording one interception, three forced fumbles and 17 special teams tackles. Against Dallas in Week 9, Taylor tallied nine tackles and blocked a field goal.Taylor led the Washington defense in Week 11 with 10 tackles and one forced fumble.2005 Taylor started 15 games and both of Washington's playoff contests.He finished the season with 80 tackles -- which was third-best on the team -- two interceptions, three forced fumbles and one sack.2004 In his rookie campaign, Taylor started 13 games and tallied 89 tackles, four interceptions, two forced fumbles and one sack.Taylor made his first NFL start in Week 3 against Dallas. College Taylor left the University of Miami (Fla.) as a defensive star. He was named a consensus first-team All-American and his final year, and was named the Big East Defensive Player of the Year.
