Diane Magnum
Local 10 News welcomed Diane to its team in 1983. After two years as midday anchor, Diane moved to weekends before settling in as Local 10's evening News Anchor for 10 years.
Diane now serves South Florida viewers as anchor of the Local 10 Weekend Morning News. Diane also conceived and spearheads our Local 10 community service initiative called "Magnum's Force" in which we use the power of television to put together those in need with those who have the means to help. In the five years that Magnum's Force has been on the air, more than four million dollars in goods and services have been given away, helping thousands of South Florida's most deserving families.
Diane Magnum is a Florida native. She grew up in Miami and has lived here more than 25 years. She attended Killian High School in Miami before heading off to
Florida State University, where she received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and Communications. In 1980, Diane began her broadcast career working for WCTV in Tallahassee, Fla. as a reporter covering the State Legislature.
Diane's investigative talent has been recognized with three UPI awards, two Emmy Awards for a report on serial killers, and one Green EyeShade Award for her series on deplorable public housing. She has also received several education awards.
She said she enjoys covering breaking news and her proudest professional achievement was when she covered the Pope's tour of Miami.
Diane is married and has a beautiful daughter along with two energetic stepsons. She loves the book "Tuesdays with Morrie" and likes dining at Cafe Abbracci and Norman's. Whenever she gets the chance, she enjoys the South Florida outdoors playing tennis, biking, boating and traveling.
