MIAMI -- WPLG's transition from analog to digital television happened at 9 a.m. Friday.
If you lost your signal or have any questions about DTV, call this hot line at 1-888-CALL-FCC.
The state-of-the art, 10,000-foot digital tower is up.
"Our antenna is up on the tower. All that we have to do tomorrow is turn off the analog," Ellis said.
Local 10 is ready. Are you?
If you have an old analog TV, you'll be in the dark. But even if you don't have a new digital set, you'll still be able to see Local 10. But you'll need a converter box. At stores like Best Buy, they're going fast.
"Are you ready?" Local 10's Janine Stanwood asked a customer who was loading up with two boxes.
"Yes, I feel ready," he said.
Here's how it works:
The converter box comes with all of the wires and plugs you need.
First, plug in your old antenna to the new converter box. Then, with the RCA cable -- for video and audio -- match up the colors with the input on your TV.
With a click of the menu button on your remote to scan, your TV should start finding channels.
"Some people, their converter boxes hold onto old information and won't add the new information. So we're asking people to either delete our channel and add it back in or rescan clean without an antenna attached," said Local 10 engineer Lourdes Arias-Green.
"We want to make sure you get Local 10. We know you depend on our programming and news, and we want to make sure everyone can get us," said Ellis.
