Megan Glaros

Megan Glaros made the move to sunny South Florida in September 2004.

As the Local 10 morning news meteorologist, Megan really looks forward to helping folks start their day on the right foot. She also enjoys working on special pieces that prove just how cool South Florida can be.

Megan grew up just a few miles from Chicago in Dyer, Ind. After a short stint as a Texas Christian University Horned Frog, she transferred to Indiana University, where she studied both atmospheric sciences and journalism.

Megan started her television career in the tiny town of Parkersburg, W.Va. After just five months, she had had enough of small-town life and moved back to the city. Megan was offered a job at NewsCentral in Baltimore and off she went. At NewsCentral, she got the chance to forecast for as many as four different cities a night. Some of her assignments included Oklahoma City, Las Vegas, Baltimore, and Birmingham, Ala.

In November 2006, Megan earned her AMS Seal of Approval from the American Meteorological Society -- one of her proudest moments. She is also a member of the National Weather Association. Megan has also filled in on "Good Morning America" numerous times since 2006.

Some things you may not know about Megan:

  • She was an NFL cheerleader for the Indianapolis Colts for a few months in 2002.

  • Megan was a print model in Chicago during high school and college.

  • She was a dancer while growing up and still takes ballet as much as possible.

  • Megan and her husband, Lance, got married in August 2003.

  • Her family is very happy to visit during those cold winter months.
