John Guaraldi

John Guaraldi joined the Local 10 Weather Team in September 2005. He is a Boston native. The many blizzards that slammed the northeast triggered his passion for weather when he was only 6 years old. John knew he would be a meteorologist when he grew up.

John earned a B.S. in Meteorology at Lyndon State College in Vermont. He then went on to graduate school at the University at Albany in New York State, where he earned a M.S. degree in Atmospheric Science.

John was awarded the television seal of approval from the American Meteorological Society in 1989 and also served as a board member of the A.M.S. He is also a member of the National Weather Association.

He began his broadcasting career in 1981 at WTEN Channel 10, the ABC affiliate in Albany, N.Y. Since then John has worked in Boston, Baltimore, and spent 8 years at WTVJ in Miami.

John’s calm approach and accurate forecasts helped the south Florida community during the record breaking 2004 and 2005 hurricane seasons, when the state was battered by eight hurricanes.

He loves to play the drums. His favorite rock band is RUSH. John is also an avid sports fan. His favorite teams? (No surprise here...) The New England Patriots and the Boston Red Sox.

You can get in touch with John here.
